What incidents can be reported?

In principle, all cases of supposed research misconduct and violations of good scientific practice can be reported (see FAQ 1).

With regard to the local competence of OeAWI, a report must be strongly related to an institution within the Austrian research system or have a connection to a researcher active in Austria.

Any natural person can submit a report of (supposed) research misconduct to the OeAWI.

Reports of other forms of malpractice in connection with research work, in particular bullying or sexual harassment, are not processed by the OeAWI. The Commission for Research Integrity is not competent for addressing such cases.
